Why convert HEIC to PDF?

Visa portals, insurers and HR systems often accept only PDF. Photographing documents on an iPhone gives you HEIC files; this makes them one tidy PDF without an app or upload.

What to expect

  • Photos are embedded as JPEG inside the PDF at the quality you choose, so the PDF stays a reasonable size.
  • Page order follows the order of the file list; drag files in the order you want or rename them 01, 02…
  • The text in the photos is not made searchable (no OCR).

How to convert HEIC to PDF

The two formats

HEIC: High Efficiency Image File (HEIF with HEVC)

The iPhone camera’s default since iOS 11 when “High Efficiency” is on. Roughly half the size of an equivalent JPG, but Windows, Android apps and most upload forms can’t open it without extra software.

PDF: Portable Document Format (ISO 32000)

A document format. Here each image becomes one page, which is what many forms and email workflows ask for.

Can I combine several HEIC photos into one PDF?

Yes. Leave “One PDF for all pages” on and every image becomes a page of a single file.

What page size should I pick?

A4 (210 × 297 mm) for most of the world, US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) for the US and Canada. “Fit to image” makes each page exactly the shape of the photo, with no margins.

Is the PDF created on a server?

No. It is assembled in your browser with the open-source pdf-lib library.
